Spanish Mackerel Batang 巴当鱼

The Spanish Mackerel, or Batang, is commonly used in Fish Soups sold at hawker centres! This refreshing dish is a classic Singaporean favourite and tastes amazing with soy sauce and cut red chilli.

Batang Fish also tastes great deep fried or made with Asam Pedas.

Fun Fact: Freshly caught Spanish Mackerel has a distinctive reflective skin (Just like a polished mirror!)

Country Of Origin:  Wild-Caught in the Indonesian seas.

Storage Guidelines: Please keep it FROZEN upon receiving the fish if not for immediate consumption.

Please Take Note: The listed weight range is before descaling, de-gutting and cleaning of the fish. All whole fishes will be descaled and de-gutted before we pack them in vacuum bags for freshness.
